Collection: Amadou Bâ
Amadou Bâ (1944) is a follower of Pierre Lods (1921-1988), the founder of the School of Fine Arts of Senegal and the School “Poto-Poto” in Congo.
Awarded a diploma School of Fine Art, he participated in numerous collective and personal exhibitions in particular in the countries of Africa such as Ivory Coast. He became known in Europe in particular in France thanks to the exhibition “L’art sénégalais d’aujourd’hui” which was held in the Grand Palais in Paris, in 1974.
His painting is at once traditional and modern, it describes nomadic and rural Africa. Very attached to its roots, to its home town which is in the Sahelian region of Senegal, Sahel remains the unique theme of its paintings. Through its works, Amadou Bâ tells us a part of its childhood. Amadou Bâ remains a very discreet character.
